Where it Started
The Strolling Not Scrolling movement began its journey on Instagram. I know what you’re thinking- isn’t this supposed to be about stepping away from social media? You’re right, but by building our community where people already spend their time, we can reach them in the very moment they’re scrolling, encouraging them to trade their phones for the great outdoors and inspire their next adventure.
The Mission
The ethos of Strolling Not Scrolling is simple. We want people to trade in their screen time for trail time.
In a world where we are glued our screens, we want to share the power of stepping away (literally!) and how it can improve both our mental and physical health. By making walking a daily habit we can reconnect with nature, movement, and old (or new) friends. We’re building a community of hike-minded people who can enjoy the outdoors together.
About Nick
Hi, I’m Nick. I’ve always been active and grew up hiking in the UK's National Parks with my family from a young age.
But as life got busier, I found myself spending more time on screens and less time outdoors. This led to me struggling with my mental health and feeling pretty disconnected.
Getting back outside made a big difference. It helped clear my head and reminded me how something as simple as a walk can do so much for your mind and for your body.
That’s why I want to encourage others to do the same. If I can get even one person to explore somewhere new, start hiking, or just take a walk on their lunch break, then I’ve done my job.
I'd love you to join me on this journey to get more people strolling and not scrolling.
